PRESS RELEASE
TO ALL INMATES, THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS:
The Pope County Sheriff's Office and Detention Center announces the implementation of a new inmate mail delivery service. MailGuard, powered by Smart Communications, has been installed on kiosks in all housing units and is available to inmates for outside and internal communications. The changes are being made to streamline the operations of the detention center, improve communications and ensure the safety and well-being of inmates and staff. In order to maintain the security and safety of the inmates and staff, inmate postal mail must be sent to the following address:
Smart Communications- POPE COUNTY INMATE NAME-ID NUMBER 3589-3 North Shiloh Drive #293 Fayetteville, ARÂ 72703
The MailGuard system is currently up and ready to go, however there will be a gradual transition which will allow both inmates and their families to become familiar with the process. After a few weeks, a date will be announced in which all mail must be sent through the clearinghouse or it will be returned to sender.
THE INMATES NAME AND ID NUMBER MUST BE CLEARLY PRINTED ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE ENVELOPE OR POSTCARD TO ENSURE THE MAIL IS POSTED TO THE CORRECT ACCOUNT.
All regular inmate postal mail (postcards, letters, greeting cards, etc.) will be scanned into the system and made available to the inmates to view their postal mail via the inmate kiosks.
LEGAL MAIL WILL CONTINUE TO BE SENT TO THE FACILITY DIRECTLY.
After being released, inmates may log onto smartjailmail.com using their same login credentials and download/save postal mail in PDF format. THERE IS NO COST INVOLVED TO DO SO. |
